Health and Wellness through Restorative Yoga

Yesterday morning I went to a Restorative Yoga class.  The class was dimly lit and had candles around the room.  The first half of the class was dedicated to poses that open the body and the heart; they were slow longly held poses, up to five minutes.  Some were really challenging – more emotionally than physically – as you felt so vulnerable and open.  At the end of the class we did an amazing meditation where we said the following

may you be healthy   may you be happy   may you be peaceful   may your life be easy

we said it first to some we love, then someone we are indifferent to, then someone who we find challenging or dislike, and finally to the universe

I have to believe putting good thoughts out there – even to those you do not not particularly like must affect the collective consciousness is a positive manner. Try it.
